Laser Resurfacing: A Primer
2/17/2021
This innovative fractional non-ablative laser with high clinical efficiency delivers heat to treatment areas, which allows for powerful skin rejuvenation. The laser stimulates the production of collagen and tightens your skin over time. It creates tiny columns of energy in the skin and thereby eliminates old pigmented cells.
Benefits of Laser Resurfacing
Frax 1550 laser resurfacing treatments improve the appearance of wrinkles, brown spots and minor scars by creating heat in the skin without injuring the surface of the skin.
You can have Frax 1550 treatments on your face, chest, hands, and arms to treat…
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Age spots
- Uneven skin tone or texture
- Sun-damaged skin
- Mild to moderate acne scars
- Stretch marks
- Surgical scars
Advantage of the Frax 1550
The advantage of this non-ablative laser is that it’s non-wounding and stimulates collagen growth that, over time, helps improve skin tone and texture. It requires less recovery time than ablative lasers and has reduced side effects and risks. The Frax 1550 allows for control over the width and depth of the thermal impact, so you have an effective and comfortable experience.
Keeping You Comfortable
We believe that you should be as comfortable as possible when having any treatment with us. That’s why we have both SoftCool as part of your procedure and Pro-Nox available if you so desire.
- SoftCool: The Frax 1550 laser uses this built in proprietary cooling system. It focuses a stream of cool air for greater comfort during and after your treatment.
- Pro-Nox: Anxious? Just ask for Pro-Nox, a non-aesthetic system that’s 50% nitrous/50% oxygen analgesic. This helps relieve pain and anxiety and is available for you during your laser procedure.
What Skin Resurfacing Cannot Do
Laser resurfacing is great for decreasing the appearance of fine lines and is an effective way to treat the loss of skin tone and improve your complexion if you have scars or sun damage. But, it cannot do everything. For example, it can’t eliminate excessive or sagging skin. If this is of concern to you, talk with us about other options, including nonsurgical FaceTite.
Some people notice results as soon as any redness or swelling from the procedure dissipates. But, more typically, this is not an instant results treatment. For optimal results, patients usually require a series of 4 – 6 sessions spaced out about a month apart.
This may continue to get better for up to a year. Laser resurfacing results are long lasting but not permanent. With changes to your skin because of aging, new wrinkles and expression lines may appear. So you may want a yearly maintenance treatment to keep looking your best.
