Should I get implants or a fat transfer?
To improve the shape and size of your buttocks, you get butt augmentation with either silicone implants or fat grafting, which is commonly called a Brazilian butt lift. In your initial consultation, Dr. Iteld will talk to you about both methods and help you decide which best matches your body and goals. He will also examine your body to find the best areas that would benefit from liposuction (typically the thighs, back, or stomach). You may not be a candidate for a BBL if your body fat percentage is too low.
How long will my results last?
Although some fat might be reabsorbed after your transfer, the majority of the fat will stay in their new location for many years. To keep your results, you should maintain a steady weight since major weight loss or gain will affect your BBL results. This is why Dr. Iteld highly recommends you be at a healthy weight before your Brazilian butt lift so it's easy for you to maintain it.
Will a Brazilian butt lift remove loose skin?
The name of the surgery, Brazilian butt lift, is confusing since it isn't actually a butt lift (gluteoplasty), which addresses loose skin from the buttocks. However, the extra volume added to your buttocks during a BBL can fill out some loose skin. If you have moderate to severe loose skin in your buttocks, you may combine a gluteoplasty with a BBL.
