How Does Laser Vein Removal Work?
Laser vein treatments are performed in-house at our Chicago, IL office and usually take around 20 – 40 minutes, depending on the size and number of areas being treated. For your laser vein session, you will lie comfortably in one of our treatment rooms as the skin is cleaned. Before starting your procedure, we'll apply a local numbing cream to reduce any potential discomfort. The Alma Veil handpiece will be passed across the treatment area so the energy can reach the spider veins through a series of pulses without affecting the skin. The blood vessel will absorb the energy of the laser, which collapses the walls of the veins. You will be able to leave our office right after the treatment to resume your normal day. As a side benefit, Alma Veil treatments also stimulate collagen production, giving your skin a smoother, radiant look over time. Most patients require 4 – 6 sessions to see the full results of their treatment, but your situation may vary.
