Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL): Let’s talk about it!

By: Our Team

Is your butt too small? Saggy? Asymmetrical? The good news is a Brazilian Butt Lift may be the solution you seek. Let’s look at common questions about BBLs:

What is a BBL?

The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a surgical way to create a shapelier, more sculpted, and better-proportioned appearance. It adds volume to the buttocks and gives you a tighter, more lifted butt.

How is a BBL performed?

I use the fat transfer technique. This involves harvesting your fat from an area where you don’t want it and injecting it where you do. For patients who don’t have adequate fat to use or just want a touch-up, we may be able to use Sculptra to give you the shape you want.

  1. This is a surgical procedure usually performed under anesthesia.
  2. The first stage is to undergo liposuction to harvest the fat from other areas of your body, such as your hips, stomach, and thighs. Said another way, let’s lose that unwanted fat!
  3. Next, we purify the removed fat and ready it for injecting where you do want it. Since some of the fat gets absorbed, I strategically over-inject so your final results are awesome.
  4. We close both the liposuction and BBL incision sites and apply protective dressings.

It’s important to note that when done wrong, you can have bad consequences. That’s why we only do BBL procedures in an accredited surgery center, inject above the muscle, and use practices outlined by other experts in the field. After all, your safety is a key part of having great outcomes!

How long will the results last?

Your final results may not be completely apparent for up to six months. That’s how long it may take for your fat cells or Sculptra to settle in. Once done, your results can be (semi)-permanent.

Why Iteld Plastic Surgery

All too often we hear about illegal substances being injected and people having severe complications. Not here! Safety in all surgical procedures is very important, but none more so than with a BBL. I use the newest, scientifically proven fat transfer techniques to maximize your safety, as well as plan for your best results.

What about cellulite?

Since a BBL fills and lifts your butt, it can give the appearance of reduced cellulite. For some patients, that’s enough. But if you still have cellulite you want gone, we are pleased to offer QWO™ — the injectable treatment for reducing cellulite.
